You've written your first draft. You've had a friend (or two) read it for you. They say it's great. But you want to make sure you are getting an unbiased answer.
What it is: a manuscript critique is to provide constructive feedback, insights, and recommendations to the author regarding the strengths and weaknesses of their work.

As an avid reader of Christian Fiction, I couldn't help but dive into the world of developmental editing. I love serving people in this part of the writing journey. While the bottom line is important, I want writers to feel supported. The best way I can support writers is by analyzing and seeing patterns in their writing and help create a better solution to what they are trying to say. I work best when I am able to get to know the raw manuscript inside and out, becoming familiar with the authors--their heart, their passions. When I do this, I can make sure it comes out in the writing, while also clearly communicating to the audience. My superpower is being able to pick up on the subtleties. When it comes down to it, I am a designer of a better way of doing things. Not because "getting a book out there" matters but because the author and the readers matter.
